Constance

Holly and I moved at Langham House Close in 2018, the flat was full of banana boxes packed with our stuff. It was one of our first evening since we moved in, we were having dinner quite late that night, I believe it was 10 when we hear 2 distinctive knocks at our door.
A distinguished woman was there to welcome us. It was Constance, our next door neighbor.
She was elegantly dressed in a nice gown, fully adorned with jewelry. She had a bottle of rose wine in her hands and shiny red nails. ‘Do you live here?’ She asked…’‘I was the first one in this block! I have been living here for 60 years! I met the architects Stirling and Gowan and it have always been very pleasant! Everyone is very nice here.. We all help one another without being in to each other’s pockets!’

This was the beginning of a long lasting relationship between Constance and I. Constance is now 100 years old. She still lives on her own and love to tell you a story. Over two years she told me a lot about her life. And I had the pleasure to take a portrait of her
